I simply love museums. My insatiable love began in second grade when my class visited the History Center on Kellogg. Most of the details are hazy, but I can still picture the list I was given for a scavenger hunt. I remember eagerly racing between rooms and displays to find a red velvet dress and jeweled crown. When I found the display case, I thought the gown and headpiece were the most beautiful things in the world. I pretended what it would be like to be a queen and wear those things- which put me on cloud nine for the rest of the day.
Now I get to watch the awe in my nephew’s eyes as he explores the Children’s Museum. It’s obvious he is pretending, just like I did. He is the world’s greatest doctor, coolest driver, smartest engineer. To him, every room and every display case is a jeweled crown.
