The Babbling Kid

My dad always used to call me The Babbling Kid.
Maybe because I made a song for EVERYthing: “I’m putting away the dishes, la la la!”
Or because I asked a million questions: “But WHY?!”
Or maybe just because I had a lot to say: “I got in trouble today because I just HAD to say a cheer during reading time!”

Now my lovely daughter is babbling away. She talks to Mama and Papa, her hands, her toys… basically anything that moves gets a sound or two, as if she’s casting a line and waiting for a verbal bite.

Her favorite toy with which to discuss life’s meaning happens to be her stuffed polar bear (from the book “On the Night You Were Born”). In the videos, I’m sorry that I laugh out loud- it drowns her out a bit. But I guess that’s to be expected, since I’m the original Babbling Kid. 😉

Oh my goodness she is adorable….and she does have a lot to say! Makes you wonder what she’s thinking, doesn’t it? The “talking” is just beginning. You just wait! I remember picking up Katie in Elementary School and she would talk non-stop all the way home, and then follow me around the house – talking. I guess it was because she had to be quiet all day in school!
